Greed/Gimmicks/Math - Understand Them!
Wednesday Jul 26, 2017
Wednesday Jul 26, 2017
I was pretty happy when this comment was left on my YouTube as it does a fantastic job of summarizing three different areas of the market that must be understood. A failure to not understand any of them can (and will) lead to some large frustrations as you attempt to learn how to trade and be successful at it in the long term. Sometimes the smartest thing to do is to take a step back and consider some overall concepts to make sure you "do" understand things in the proper sense.

A Mini Vacation from the Markets
Friday Jul 21, 2017
Friday Jul 21, 2017
When it is Summer time is West Michigan, the local area needs to be taken advantage of. In this instance, Nate and I decided to do a mini vacation in the middle of the week to trek up North and work on our manliness with some outdoor activities. From climbing the massive Sleeping Bear sand dunes to canoeing down the Manistee River, it was a great way to take our minds off the markets and business as a whole.

Here Comes a Bloodbath

Trading success (in the long term) is all about mindsets and perspectives. I'd be misleading if I said that the perspective of using "free education" is a guaranteed way to fail; however, when you add in this additional component as you'll see in the video, THAT is where you are guaranteeing yourself a bloodshed type failure. It is surprising how many people have these mindsets and perspectives when they are first getting started, so yeah, save yourself some massive headaches (and lost money) and change up your viewpoints.

One of the beautiful things about working from home and being your own boss is you get to dictate the schedule. In this case, Marvel released their newest movie, Spider-Man: Homecoming, so as is tradition... time for a Friday Fun Day! Nate and I had a friend join us for the movie and lunch where we certainly had some interesting conversations and now have a community goal we need to start collecting for.

What Makes an Economy Good or Bad?
Thursday Jul 13, 2017
Thursday Jul 13, 2017
Although basic in nature, that's okay... we were all brand new at one point, so this question I got from YouTube is more than valid. When you hear people talking about economies being good or bad, what exactly do they mean? Another way to look at the question, what can cause an economy to be considered healthy or unhealthy? Let's take a look at some basic foundational pieces to an overall economy.

Context Exposes Penny Stock Pumpers
Wednesday Jul 12, 2017
Wednesday Jul 12, 2017
It's amazing how far a little bit of knowledge and context combined with common sense can take you. In this case study, I do use something from the world of penny stock trading; however, the overall concept pertains to any market. When you understand overall bits of context you set yourself up for being able to recognize many of the nooks and crannies of the market. As far as this case study is concerned, common sense proves to be an excellent indicator and identifier of seeing a persons' true motivations and exposing a wolf hiding in sheep's clothing.

A tour of my home office where I work has been a common request over the past few years. Working from home is truly one of the greatest things about being a trader and business owner; so if this tour can help offer some motivation on your end, then I'll consider it a success.

I don't have much to say other than if you allow your emotions and such to "take control", you run the risk of sounding like a crazy person. Be aware of your emotions. Don't let this happen to you, ok?
