What is Hedging? (Stock Market 101)

So, what exactly is hedging when it comes to the world of stock market trading and investing? This is what we’ll be talking about in this stock market 101 video. Hedging is one of those strategies within the stock market that can be as simple or complicated as you choose to make it. Perhaps you’ve heard of hedge funds before? Those are a group of people that make “hedging” quite complicated. Other people, decide to take a much more simplistic approach to this strategy. Is one strategy better than the other? Perhaps. With that being said, much of how you hedge is going to depend on your personal strategies and risk tolerance levels. The core concept is very easy to understand as it essentially relies on only two words. From there you can get as complicated and advanced as you want. This topic is one that illustrates just why the markets can be so challenging and fun. You can talk to ten different investors about hedging and get ten different theories and approaches about it. This goes to show how there is no one size fits all approach. Everyone has their opinions and approaches to the market! We first just need to understand the basic idea of hedging and that’s what we’ll do here in this video.

Is Online Day Trading “Pure Gambling”? (my results)

I’ve been told a couple times recently that online day trading is “pure gambling” so I want to address the topic, again. For those of you new to my channel, I have a playlist where I show myself making online day trades live. This has prompted a few individuals to make the claim all I am doing is “pure gambling”. Is this actually the case? Well, let’s look at some data of my results of more than 60 trades! If day trading is pure gambling and essentially a coin flip, then we’d be looking at 50% right, and 50% wrong. Is this what my results are showing? I understand how this conception of us day traders being gamblers is created; however, is there any truth to it? Let’s take a look at my recent data as I’ve moved into trading a new product, SPX options. I’ll let you decide after seeing the data whether a claim can be made that I am purely gambling.

Blaming (wrongly) a Bad Trading Strategy on Greed

Why is day trading so hard? Let’s take a look at one of the several reasons. In order to find success as a day trader, you need to have a valid strategy. I understand I state the obvious when I say that; however, building a valid strategy is extremely difficult. If you are a beginner day trader who is just getting started, strategy building becomes that much more difficult. When you’re new and don’t know what you don’t know, part of that is not even knowing what the “actual” problem is within a strategy. As you’ll see in this video, I take a real life example of a beginner trader blaming greed for their issues when greed is not the actual issue. The comical irony here is he was actually being a disciplined trader, but, he blamed greed! How is this possible? Let’s take a look at a case study of why it’s important to know what to blame when you’re having problems.

Unfortunately, paper trading (simulator/demo trading) can not perfectly create the psychology challenges we all face when our hard earned, real, money is on the line. How to Fight Inflation (in a low risk way)

We’re all well aware of how inflation has been making our lives more expensive. I’m assuming if you watch my videos you care about your personal finances and are trying to make the best decisions possible. For someone in your mindset, I’m assuming you have been trying your best to fight back against inflation in whatever ways you can. I want to show you an easy way to fight back that carries with it a very low amount of risk. I know, I know! Usually when people say “easy” in the same sentence as “low risk”, you want to run the other way and scream “SCAMMER!”. In fact, you are wise to do so! With that being said, the strategy I talk about in this video is very anti-climatic. Who knows.. maybe you are already doing this strategy within your personal finances? If you are not however, then you need to get this ball rolling! It’s not a total fix, but it does put you in a much better fighting position against inflation than what you may be doing now.
